I am speachless, not only was I able to assemble this kit, I used a musket barrel bluing (it turned brown) for several parts. I now have several other fighters in my group wanting me to assemble their kits for them. I have to also tell you that these guys are the best. I had some trouble comming up with the cash (divorce crap) and sent emails to them telling them this is the day only to not be able to buy the kit. Well, they never once let me know how aggravated they were with me (wink). In other words, friendly and MOST helpfull. The kit is a dream, and I will be ordering more. And one more thing, if you have a peice of thick but soft leather, some closecell foam and an old bowling pin, you can planish these peices beautifully. the only hammering I had to do was the cheek flare and I did that on the edge of a stump. Godd luck and happy hammering. Oh,I have never ever built any form of metal armour before this, and have been told to buy and build these helm kits as a business. I may do just that.

I assembled one of these kits in mild steel. It was amazing haw easily the kit went together. I do have some armor making experience and equipment. I am starting a second one with some custom brass etc. in stainless for myself.

What an AWESOME helm! I cannot imagine why, anyone in their right mind, would be buying a helm anywhere else!? Youy esentially get a CUSTOM helm, shaped to your head (by you) for ONE TENTH of the price! The intructions are easy and clear. I made my own "Stump" for shaping this from wood from Home depot (feel free to email if you need info on how to do this). Aside from the stump, you really just need 2 good hammers and this is a SIMPLE project, and lots of FUN! I LOVE this helm!
