This base kit includes all precut pieces and rivets to produce a SCA legal Topfhelm (Crusader, Saltshaker, Totenkopf) in 13ga (.050) CRS. The base kit includes a cross for the face in the same material as the base kit. The base kit has a solid back wrap. Base kit has all holes included, with the exception of those in the muzzle (face plate) which have to be match drilled at assembly due to hole deformation during forming. The breaths in the muzzle are left for the customer to add in to allow personalization. Includes all rivets in the appropriate materials for the options ordered. Upgrades can include Type 304 Stainless Steel, pre-shaping of the top cap (doming and flanging), pre-shaping the muzzle (doming) and welding the dart in the muzzle pattern (hidden under the center of the cross, welding not structurally necessary, but makes assembly easier). Also offered is an upgrade to the face cross to either stainless or brass, fretwork (pierced) backwrap with five fluery crosses which includes a lower band pierced for mounting an aventail. We offer the Topfhelm in three sizes, small for brow measurements from 21 1/2 to 22/2 , Medium for brow measurements from 22 1/2 to 23 1/2 , Large for brow measurements 23 1/2 to 24 1/2 and finally, Extra Large for brows from 24 1/2 to 25 1/2. Subtle variances width to length, etc. can be affected in the shaping. The sizes are with room for padding, around an inch at the bottom of each scale to a half inch at the top.
