Another pair of Topfhelms made from the kits-1085 viewsThe breaths in the muzzle are at the request of the patron as the kit comes blank. The brass cross is also a modification at the patron's request.

assembly photo of setting down the cap to the crown-211 viewsHere is the flange being set down as I move around the crown, removing one bolt at a time to hammer the flange down with a hardwood mallet while supporting it closely from within over a bar held in a vice as a stake.

assembly photo of setting down the cap to the crown-219 viewsOnce it is set down tight with the mallet, I go around it again with planishing hammer to sharpen the round corner to a crisp edge. Not necessary, but I like the way it looks.

assembly photo of setting down the cap to the crown-193 viewsHere is the last edge to be set down, the ripple looks large, as the material has been pushed around and has no where to go. It will compress together as it is formed flat to the crown in the same way as the rest of the helm.
